FOREWORD BY THE WORKSHOP DIRECTOR AND QUALITY POLICY STATEMENT

The Board of Directors of PAUL MARTIN ENGINEERING decided in April 1982 that the company should implement a formal Quality Management System in order to maintain and improve its reputation for service to its Customers. This manual and the Work Instruction Manual contains the documented Quality Management System. At present we have ISO9001-2008.

As Managing Director, I am responsible for the day to day running of the Company and have given my full commitment to implementing the Systems. I call on all our employees to give the system their full support, which I believe will be to everybody's benefit in the long run.

COMPANY QUALITY OBJECTIVES AND POLICY:

The objective of developing and implementing a Business Management System is to achieve and maintain Purchases satisfaction by supplying products which:

  • Conform to the specified requirements of the Purchaser as a Minimum; and
  • Are delivered on schedule at the agreed contractual price; and
  • Have documented, objective evidence to prove conformance with specified requirements.

The policy of PAUL MARTIN ENGINEERING is to integrate the Quality System with their overall Management System and recognizes that the Quality system contribute to the long term efficiency, productivity and profitability of the Company.

In cases where non-conformance's or System deviations are detected, it is the policy to evaluate these and to ensure that timely and effective Corrective Action is taken.

All personnel shall be informed of the contents of our Quality System and are requested to actively participate therein by contributing suggestions and working accordingly.

As Workshop Director, I am responsible to identify resource requirements and provide adequate resources including the assignment of Trained Personnel.

BLACK EMPOWERMENT STRATEGY

PAUL MARTIN ENGINEERING (PTY) LTD identified the absolute necessity for getting involved in genuine Black Empowerment.

Black Empowerment is viewed by PAUL MARTIN ENGINEERING not only as a national priority, but also as a company priority should there be any wish for sustained growth and development in the Country or Company.

Our strategy is to train and develop selected experienced persons who will undergo Management Development training so as to prepare them for a Directorship.

We believe the following will be achieved:

  1. A functional genuine Black Empowerment Company would have been established with no loss in Quality or Service standards.
  2. True Black Empowerment would have been achieved.
  3. Additional jobs will have been created.
  4. Eventually a 100% reverse take-over.

In summary, the forward-looking strategy of PAUL MARTIN ENGINEERING (PTY) LTD, which was implemented in 2003, has enabled management to have no doubt that their plans make for suitable Black Empowerment.
